BFGoodrich® Tires Announces its 2007 Formula Drift Contingent

Samuel “The Crazy Swede” Hübinette Ready to Defend Championship Title

GREENVILLE, S.C. – April 3, 2007– Fresh off the heels of clinching the 2006 Formula Drift Championship, BFGoodrich Tires is pleased to announce their continued support of Samuel “The Crazy Swede” Hübinette as he sets out to defend his crown piloting the highly anticipated Mopar Dodge Charger SRT8 for Team Mopar/NuFormz Racing. Hübinette’s choice for attacking the asphalt during the 2007 Formula Drift Championship series is a set of BFGoodrich g-Force T/A® KDW tires.

Alongside the 35-year-old former stunt driver turned drifting champion will be popular NASCAR driver and trainer Chris Cook. Both cars in the new two-car Team Mopar/NuFormz Racing stable will sport BFGoodrich g-Force T/A® KDW tires throughout their assault on the seven round Formula Drift Championship series. Former NHRA Championship driver and NuFormz owner, Shaun Carlson, who started running the Mopar Drift program in late 2005, will manage the team.

Doug Brown, BFGoodrich Tires brand category manager, said the 2006 season was especially exciting for BFGoodrich as Hübinette utilized the performance capabilities of the g-Force T/A® KDW tires perfectly, while drifting valiantly right down to the very last round – and drifting fans can expect more intense action in 2007.

“It was amazing to see drivers battling each other for every inch of the track to garner the best scores,” said Brown. “BFGoodrich Tires is extremely pleased with their performance as well as the performance of the BFGoodrich g-Force T/A® KDW tires and we’re happy to have Hübinette and Cook driving for us in 2007.”

Brown added, “It will be interesting to see how the new season develops – Samuel’s determined to keep his number one spot, but Cook would love to take it from him ‘07.”

Hübinette’s 2006 championship season began with a victory in Long Beach, Calif., in April, followed with a win at round three in Chicago. Hübinette captured his third win of the year and regained the series point lead at the New Jersey round in September. The remainder of his 2006 results featured a second-place finish at Atlanta, a fourth-place finish in Sonoma, Calif., a seventh-place showing in Seattle and a third-place finish at the season’s final race in Irwindale, Calif.

2006 marked the third year of the Formula Drift series. After taking the championship in the inaugural 2004 season, Hübinette lost the 2005 title to Rhys Millen by 40 points in the final standings. Overall, Hübinette has won more Formula Drift competitions than any other driver in the history of the three-year series.

“We are really excited to be supported again by BFGoodrich Tires for 2007,” said Hübinette. “BFGoodrich has really stepped up their program this year and the g-Force KDW tires grip better than any other tire out there, which helps my confidence on the track. I can’t wait to get back in the drivers seat and give the fans a good show.”

Alongside Team Mopar/NuFormz Racing will be the pioneering effort of Team Signal and driver Kazu Hayashida, who will challenge the field piloting the highly acclaimed Nissan GT-R34 Skyline wrapped in a set of BFGoodrich g-Force T/A® KDW tires. Team Signal helped bring drifting to the United States from Japan and verified the team’s status last season as a dominating force on the asphalt by qualifying and finishing well at several events.
