In order to understand just how important tires are to rockcrawling, we talked to four of the biggest names on the UROC (United Rockcrawlers & Off-road Challenge) circuit today.

Lovell: If I felt we didn't have the right tire, it would affect our confidence. The truck is the right tool because it has the right equipment. The rest is up to the team.

Bulloch: The vehicle is very important and the tires are very important. The vehicle is 50% and the tires are 50% to make a 100% good rockcrawler.

Jordan: Tires? They're pretty much the most important thing. BFGoodrich was the first to come out with a compound tire that dominated the rock. Nobody else has got it yet. It's still the best proven compound.

Campbell: They're the best tires I've ever run. We had the best cars out there, the newest too, but we weren't winning. Soon as we started using BFGoodrich tires we started winning them all. There was a night and day difference. The tire is critical.

Jordan: In 2002, we were the first team to try BFGoodrich tires out in the rockcrawling work. They've got a really good tread pattern and really good compound. In my eyes there isn't a better tire.

Bulloch: With BFGoodrich tires you never have to worry about having a flat. I have never had a tire go down on me ever.

Lovell: The best advantage of BFGoodrich tires is the traction. It's something you can depend on. One time, the front end slid down into a crevasse that stopped eveyrone else. We were able to crawl and grab and get out of that hole. We screwed up and they (the BFGoodrich tires) made up for it.

Bulloch: When we are in line at a competition and there's this big nasty wall and I see some other tire brands, I sit and I smile inside because I know with my BFGoodrich Krawlers^TM T/A^® tires that I'm going to crawl right up that wall.
